I must compliment Sun Journal readers who submit so many good letters (most of them, anyway) and also compliment the Sun Journal for those printed. I wish the editors could select columns from some other source besides the Washington Post.

There was a letter Oct. 19 by Frank Koris that I would like to comment on.

Koris says the “obstructionist” Republicans made President Obama look weak and ineffective.

He did a great job of that all by himself.

Consider that he had big majorities in both the Senate and the House for two years. Did he submit legislation to reform immigration? Nope. Did he submit legislation to reform Social Security? Nope. How about tax reform? Nope. What about budgets? He has not had a budget in four years. The only one he submitted was shot down 97 to 0.

How is that for weak and ineffective.

Obamacare did get passed (against the wishes of a large majority of the people).

The economy still stinks after him doling out more than a trillion dollars of stimulus money. And the true unemployment number is approaching 15 percent.

President Obama allowed Harry Reid to sit on more than 30 jobs bills passed with bipartisan support by Congress. A good jobs bill by the Republicans would not look good.

Nope. He needed no help looking weak and ineffective.
