BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Hospital Guild will light the Tree of Love, located off the main entrance to Bridgton Hospital, for the holiday season on Monday, Nov. 26.
A yearly tradition, the lighting of the tree is followed by hot chocolate and homemade goodies served at the Bridgton Hospital Guild Twitchell Café, located on the hospital campus. All are invited.
Gathering around the 30-foot tall spruce, Choirmaster Carolyn Stanhope will lead the attendees in songs for the holiday.
The Guild also has set up a Tree of Love in the main lobby of the hospital. Guild members are selling lights on the tree in memory or in honor of loved ones. A gift of $5 or more lights a Christmas bulb for the holiday season.
Applications for the lights are available in the hospital lobby, at the Twitchell Café and at the Guild Thrift Store, Main Street.
Honorees or their family are notified by mail of the gift by the Tree of Love project directors, Susan Strong and Fern Twitchell.
The Guild, a nonprofit organization, is led by President Sandra Weygandt. For more information, including membership, visit www.bridgtonhospital.org.
