Harvest supper date changed
LIVERMORE FALLS — Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church will hold the annual harvest supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the church, corner of Church and Knapp streets.
The menu includes roast pork, potatoes, vegetables and homemade pies. Adults meal will be $8 and under 12, $4.
The meal date has been changed from Nov. 10.
Genealogical Society to meet
FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogical Society, will meet at the Farmington Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. The program topic, “Genealogy Research in New Brunswick,” will be presented by Thelma Eye Brooks from the Taconnett Falls Chapter, MGS.
Brooks has been doing research in New Brunswick for many years and her knowledge will be helpful to anyone looking for information on their ancestors from New Brunswick. In addition to an overview of the sources available, there will be a question and answer session plus a demonstration on how to access many of the sources on the Internet. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.
Free public supper is Nov. 10
JAY — This month’s free public supper will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Street. Doors open at noon and serving is from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
There will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal with desserts and drinks. The friend of the supper this month is Mill Street Cafe.
Robotics team bottle drive
JAY — Spruce Mountain High School’s SMART Robotics will be having a bottle drive Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The team needs to raise $6,000 this year. Bottles can be dropped off at North Jay Redemption during week, or behind McDonald’s during the drive, or call 897-4336 to schedule bottle pickup.
Public supper benefits pantry
WILTON — A public supper at First Congregational Church, Main Street, will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Menu will be casseroles, salads, breads and a variety of desserts. Donations accepted to benefit the Wilton Area Food Pantry. For information, call 645-2535.
Ham dinner at Masonic Lodge
NEW SHARON — A ham dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the new Masonic Lodge, Route 2.
The meal consists of ham with raisin sauce, mashed potatoes, squash, peas, rolls, pies, tea and coffee. Take out is available.
The cost is $8 for adults; $5 for children.
The meal is hosted by Franklin Lodge 123. Proceeds will benefit the building fund.
Country music returns to Salem
SALEM — A+E’s Hill Country Music will return to the Salem Community Building at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Refreshments will be on sale and a donation box will be at the door. The event is sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club.
Free workshop on college planning
WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop titled “Essentials of College Planning” for adults 19 and over at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Wilton Career Center, 865 U.S. Route 2E.
The program helps qualified adults make the transition towards a college education. All MEOC services are free and include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process and application fee waivers for qualified adults.
The free interactive workshop outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial, career planning and study skills. The workshop last approximately two to three hours. Pre-registration is required.

Christmas fair, turkey meal
FARMINGTON — The annual Christmas fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Route 2.
A turkey and biscuit meal with dessert will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On hand will be Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, needlework, knitted goods, handmade gifts, plants, baked goods and candy, jams, jellies and relishes, and a cookie walk.
Proceeds will be directed to projects focusing on women and children, the mission emphasis of the United Methodist Women.

Christmas Bazaar set for Nov. 17
INDUSTRY — United in Christ Presbyterian Church will hold their Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Industry Town Hall. Friends Together Holiday Bazaar
LIVERMORE FALLS — Friends Together Peer Support and Recovery Center will host a Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. The funds from this event will help to pay for the group’s many activities throughout the year.
For sale will be raffle tickets on many theme baskets as well as food, crafts, books, puzzles and many Christmas items on the White Elephant table.
The center’s new location is at 31 Park St., next to the fire station.
