NORWAY — Jennifer Dilworth has won the race for Oxford County Register of Probate in a 13,294 to 11,460 tally against her opponent, Carol Gutenkunst, with 92 percent of the towns reporting by Wednesday morning.
A total of 26,740 of 41,137 registered voters in Oxford County turned out to cast their ballots in the general election to give Dilworth 53.7 percent of the vote against Gutenkunst’s 46.3 percent.
Dilworth won most of the larger towns in Oxford County, including Norway with 1,237 votes to Gutekunst’s 1,114 votes. In Paris, Dilworth received 1,252 to her opponent’s 1,070. Oxford gave Dilworth a 1,122-764 edge. Bethel gave Dilworth 729 votes and her opponent 671 votes. Otisfield favored Dilworth 546-347, as did Otisfield at 546-347.
But Gutenkunst tallied higher numbers in Rumford receiving 1,287 votes to Dilworth’s 1,237 votes, and also in Fryeburg where she received 735 to Dilworth’s 717 votes.
Dilworth said late Tuesday night she was grateful for the support she received.
