- Farmington crews closed the west section of Maple Avenue on Thursday to replace a sewer line damaged by tree roots at the end of Maple Avenue adjacent to Route 2. They did not need to dig up Route 2 by using a pipe-burst method. Holes were dug on both sides of Route 2, and a six-inch pipe was pulled through a larger four-inch pipe via hydraulics, said excavator Josh Pratt of J. Pratt Construction of Hebron. Ted Berry’s Trenchless Technologies of Livermore did the work, which Pratt said could be felt above ground when the pipe was pulled through, bursting the four inch pipe.
