NORWAY — Irene A. Richardson, 82, of Oxford went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 25, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in West Paris, May 3, 1930, to Arthur and Mildred Rowe Allen. She attended school in Sumner.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, family gatherings and keeping her home neat and tidy. She was a faithful church attendee in both West Sumner Baptist Church and South Paris Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Bailey (Dennis) and Clarissa Knights (James) of Sumner and Darlene Smith (Robert) of Norway; a son, Stephen Richardson (Miriam) of Spokane, Wash.; stepchildren, Marilyn Hammond (Raymond) and James Richardson (Cindy) of South Paris, Donald Richardson Jr. (Linda) and Elizabeth Walder (Robert) of Sumner; a brother, Chester Allen (Emily) of Richmond; a sister, Ethel Cross (Albert) of Alaska; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Allen of West Paris and Phyllis Richardson of Turner; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Richardson Sr.; her brothers, Ashley and Albert; and her sister, Laura Andrews.
