WILTON — Wilton Day Group met on Nov. 8 with 11 members present. The thought of the day was, “You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.”
Members voted to donate money to the Salvation Army. It was voted that Lois King will stay on the advisory board and Anne Storey will be co-adviser. Safety tip was drive carefully on snow.
The Craft Fair held on Oct. 20 went well. Next year’s will be on the third Saturday of November.
The group decided to add extra meetings to the agenda. Members will be meeting the second and third Thursdays of each month, the second Thursday for meetings and the third for a craft workshop for those who would like to learn to do crafts or for those who would just like to get together and make items. Items made will be sold at the craft fair to raise money for the group. The first workshop meeting will be held in January; participants will make knit dishcloths. February’s workshop will be crochet dishcloths.
More pillowcases were turned in for the Franklin County community service project. The group is sending nine boxes of crackers and one can of pumpkin pie to the food pantry as their community service project.
Door prize was won by Annette Spevak. The program was on decorations for the Tree of Light. All participated in the making of these.
The next meeting will be the Christmas Party. Members will meet at St. Luke’s Church and carpool to Ann Ibarguen’s house. All members are asked to bring a $5 gift for the exchange of gifts and something for the food pantry. Laundry soap was suggested. Members will be singing as part of the program.
