Men’s Breakfast set for Dec. 1
NEW PORTLAND — On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Western Mountains Baptist Church will host its monthly Men’s Breakfast. Men of all ages and all spiritual stages are welcomed to meet at the church at 8 a.m. for food, fellowship and a study from the Bible.

Music by A+E planned for Dec. 2
SALEM — A+E’s Hill Country Music will be at the Salem Community Building on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be on sale and a donation box will be at the door. Sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club.
SAD 52 to offer college courses
TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult Education has announced that Central Maine Community College coursework will be offered. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 16, English 101 College Writing will be offered at the Turner Adult Education Center from 5:30 to 8:25 p.m.
Registration begins Dec. 3 and the cost of the course is $357.60. The class is open to both high school students and residents of the community. Tuition assistance is available to qualified students.

Students may also register in person at the Registrar’s office at the CMMC Auburn campus. The Franklin County Community College Network provided assistance in bringing college courses to MSAD 52.
Since the fall of 2005, the FCCCN has been offering college classes and providing a pathway to the future, promoting higher educational opportunities to residents of Greater Franklin County and now into the Upper Androscoggin area.
Tri-Town Seniors meet Dec. 10
LIVERMORE FALLS — On Nov. 26, the Tri-Town Seniors met at Murray Hall with 26 members and one guest, Gary Couture, present.
President Fernande Doiron opened with the weekly ceremony, followed by the song “New World in the Morning,” sung by George Doiron. The secretary’s report was read and accepted as read. It was reported Dot Wilson is doing well following her surgery.
For old business Fern reminded everyone of the Christmas party on Dec. 10 at LaFleur’s with a rain date of Dec. 17. Members are allowed to bring a guest.
It was voted last week that there will be no meetings on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. The group will resume meetings on Jan. 7. There was no new business this week.
Francis Therrien won the 50/50 and door prizes donated by members were won by Francis Therrien, Marielle Labbe, Carole Redman and Gary Couture.
Next week members will play bingo, cards or games. Following the meeting refreshments were brought by Aurelien Couture, Nancy Couture and Athanase Couture and served by the hospitality committee.

Event benefits Chabe family
FAYETTE — A benefit for David and Beth Chabe will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Fayette Central School in the gymnasium.
A craft fair, bake sale and children’s corner will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a benefit dinner and auction from 4 to 6 p.m.
David Chabe is battling Stage 4 cancer and lymphedema. He has to attend dialysis in Augusta three times a week for five hours a day because his kidneys have failed. His wife Beth had to stop working at Hannaford in Winthrop to help hospice take care of him.
The children’s corner is a corner filled with barely-used, donated toys that will make great holiday gifts.
Santa may make an appearance between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Face painting and other children’s activities will be made available.
