RANGELEY — Many volunteers from the Rangeley community were responsible for preparing, cooking and serving a meal for the 30th annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd on Nov. 18.
A tremendous amount of planning and preparation goes into this event each year as well as many volunteers. Bob Wentworth of Rangeley IGA donated six turkeys this year. Two more turkeys and the butternut squash were donated by another. A 50-pound bag of potatoes was donated by Chapman’s Vegetables in Bemis.
Lincoln Libby has taken part in this event since its inception in 1982 and even though he lives in the Portland area now he and now his daughters take time to participate each year.
The Rotary Interact Club and Rangeley Lakes Regional School students cheerfully served 120 in house and helped prepare 20 meals to be delivered. They were a tremendous help with the clean up as well.
