DURHAM — A Lewiston driver was killed Friday night when his car rolled over multiple times on Soper Road, Maine State Police Trooper Nathan Jamo said.
Barry Morrison, 53, of 87 Pine St., was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:35 p.m. crash, Jamo said.
Speed was “an overwhelming factor” and alcohol is suspected because there was an open can of beer in the 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, the investigator said.
Morrison was headed east when he lost control of the car and it rolled at least five or six times for a long distance, Jamo said. It landed on its side with Morrison strapped in his seat belt.
The investigation is continuing, Jamo said.
Durham Fire and Rescue was first at the scene, Chief Bill St.Michel said.
