- The Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club recently honored its October RSU 16 Student of the Month recipient, Darryn Langlois. Darryn, a sixth-grader at Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls, is an avid reader, aspiring author and an outstanding citizen in his school community. He is pictured with teacher Amy Kimball and Optimist Club president Jeff Gagnon.
