Knights’ free supper is Dec. 8
JAY — This month’s free public supper will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Knights of Columbus hall on Main Street. Doors open at noon and serving is from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Menu will be baked ham, au gratin potatoes, corn chowder, veggies, dessert and drink. The friend of this month’s supper is Otis Ventures LLC.
Pork loin roast dinner
NEW SHARON — A pork loin roast dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Masonic Lodge Hall, Route 2.
The meal includes mashed potatoes, peas, baby carrots, rolls, apple sauce, pies, tea and coffee.
The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12 and free for children under 6. Take out will be available. Proceeds will benefit the building fund.
Workshop for food raisers
FARMINGTON — Franklin County Farm Bureau will host an Insurance Workshop for those who raises food, either for their own use or to sell
Do you have livestock, even if it’s only one or two? Do you process food or non-food items to sell? Do people come onto your property for educational or entertainment purposes? Do you want to know more about what is included, or excluded, in an insurance policy? If you answered yes to any of these questions, plan to attend the workshop at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Farmington Town Office.
John Heller and Erik Hart of Farm Family Insurance Company will review the various types of policies available and explain the differences in each type. Insurance needs for individuals or farmers selling goods they produce or process will also be discussed as will insurance needs for farmers offering agritainment events such as corn maizes, hay rides or pick your own. Learn more about how to best protect you and your property from liability issues or losses such as fire, flood or other disasters.
