Coach: Mike Adams (12th year)

Last year’s record: 12-8, lost in Eastern Class A semifinals

Returning players: Seniors — Quin Leary (6-2 forward), Sean Ford (6-2 forward); Junior — Nate Alexander (6-3 forward); Sophomores — Llewellyn Jensen (6-5 forward), Ian Mileikis (6-1 guard).

Key losses: Ian Therriault (6-4 guard), Omar Haji-Hersi (6-3 forward), Aaron Crenshaw (6-3 center).

Promising newcomers: Seniors — Mahad Mohamed (6-1 forward), Calvin Willette (5-9 guard); Sophomores — Kaleb Main (6-2 forward), Luke Sterling (5-6 guard).

Outlook: A nice mix of players, including three starters and five of last season’s top eight, return to lead the Eddies’ push for a fifth Eastern Maine title game appearance in six years. The Leary name is recognizable for many reasons, and Quin is a four-year standout and one of the top players in the league. He is ready and willing to share some of the responsibility this season with a group of players who have the previous season and a solid summer under their belts for growth. Ford and Alexander are solid all-around players. Keys for EL are not to become too reliant on Leary and for the sophomore class of Jensen, Mileikis and Main to step up its contributions.

Coach’s comment: “I hope we have enough of a mix between size, athleticism, basketball IQ and competition among our own players for spots and time to push hard enough to be playing our best basketball possible in February.” — Coach Mike Adams
