Christmas cantata set for Dec. 14, 15
WOODSTOCK — The annual Christmas cantata of the Woodstock Seventh Day Adventist Church will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the church, Perkins Valley Road.
The cantata will be by Forestdale School students and church children, directed by Winnie Hodson. Everyone is invited.
Finnish-American Society meeting
WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
A brief business meeting will be followed by a coffee social and a program on Finnish inventors presented by Tamara Cohen. The public is invited.

The University System universities offer undergraduate certificates in accounting, child and youth care, criminal justice, gerontology, human resources management, information and library services, paralegal studies, substance abuse rehabilitation and many more. Students receive academic credit that may be applied toward a degree program later.
For people just getting started in online courses, the center offers instruction in all aspects of online learning and students are welcome to use the center’s computer lab if they don’t have a high-speed Internet connection at home.
Waterford Library holiday schedule
WATERFORD — The Waterford Library will be closed for the holidays on Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1. The library will close at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31.
The bridge group will not meet in December.
Library patrons should be aware that the library is kept open by volunteers and may occasionally be closed due to inclement winter weather. Call ahead at 583-2050 to be sure the library is open if the weather is questionable.
