WINTHROP — The Bailey Public Library will host author Kieran Shields at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11.

His new novel, “The Truth of All Things,” is the library’s featured book of the month. The Bailey Title Waves Book Group will discuss the novel at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Shields grew up in Portland and graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Maine School of Law.

“The Truth of All Things,” which received a rare star review from Kirkus Reviews, as well as Publisher’s Weekly, is his first novel. The follow-up, “A Study in Revenge,” is due out in 2013.
