BRYANT POND — Whitman Memorial Library will host Arla Patch speaking about her work on the Truth & Reconciliation and the Maine Wabanaki State Child Welfare on Thursday, Jan. 10. The monthly programs are usually on the second Thursday of the month, but occasionally they are changed because of conflicts.
Jennifer Locke of South Paris currently has her mandala artwork on display. She will also present a program in the near future. Several people have already expressed an interest in how to do it.
This month’s Christmas craft program had a good turnout. About a dozen people showed up and made tree ornaments and enjoyed the projects.
The library now has Wi-Fi and there is no charge to use it.
An ongoing book sale in the library basement will be held. The cost is $1 for hardcover books, 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for videos. There are also lots of classic videos on VCR cassettes.
Two children’s books have been added, “The Buggiest Bug,” by Carol D. Shields, and the graphic novel “Lost Trail,” the story of Don Fendler and his nine days alone in the wilderness. The Oxford County Educators Association-Retired donated those books. The group has undertaken a project of giving one or two children’s books to every library in Oxford County every year.
