LIVERMORE FALLS — Twelve applications were submitted for the fire chief’s position, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Wednesday.

Four were chosen for interviews and she was conducting her last one Wednesday morning, she said.

The new chief will succeed Gerry Pineau of Jay as of Jan. 1, 2013. Pineau, who was hired in June 2010, plans to further his education to become a paramedic. He submitted his resignation, effective Dec. 31, in November.

She is hoping to have a candidate to discuss with the Board of Selectmen in executive session on Monday, Dec. 17, with action to follow, she said.

Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
