Christmas weekend at First Congre.
PARIS — First Congregational Church in South Paris invites the public to share Christmas weekend with them.
On Sunday morning, Dec. 23, services will be held at 10 a.m. On Christmas Eve there will be two services including a family worship at 4 p.m. and a candlelight service at 11:30 p.m.
“We will sing the songs of Christmas, hear the story of Jesus from the gospel of Luke and the various sermons will all attempt to relate the Christmas story of hope and light to our everyday ordinary lives,” said Don Mayberry, pastor of the church. “It is not an accident that we celebrate the birth of Christ during the darkest time of the year. It is a beautiful faith story of God’s light shining not just into the stable in Bethlehem but also into our lives.”
First Congregational Church, at 17 East Main St., will also be the site of a free Christmas meal and fellowship on Christmas Day starting at noon. The church is handicap accessible.
Sunday services are broadcast live on AM 1450 and AM 780. For more information go to www.southpariscongregational.com.
