FARMINGTON — Jacquelyn M. Brown, 69, of Rangeley, died Sunday, Dec. 16, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, shortly upon arrival.

She was born Feb. 9, 1943, in St. Albans, a daughter of Byron and Phyllis (Carr) Manchester. She was educated in Scarborough schools and was a graduate of the Farmington State Teacher’s College. On June 16, 1962, she married her soulmate, Alvin L. Brown in Scarborough.

She taught for a brief time in both the Jay and North Berwick schools and pursued her passion of real estate and worked as a broker in York.

She and her husband bought a home in Rangeley more than 20 years ago, but enjoyed full retirement within the last seven years. Her hobbies were gardening and canning the harvest.

A devoted wife and mother, she is loved by her husband, Alvin of Rangeley; their sons, Carle Brown and his wife, Maura, of York, Lyle Brown and his wife, Bing, of Shanghai, China, and Joshua Brown and his wife, Kristin, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; her aunt and uncle, who raised her, Alfred and Dot Bell of Scarborough; her “siblings,” Bruce Bell and his wife, Janet, of Scarborough, Jack Bell of Jackman, Linda Ryder of Maryland, and Joleen Connor of Scarborough; and six grandchildren, Chance, Jada, Autumn, Ben, Meghan and Michael.
