Mayans aside, humanity is in serious need of introspection. I may be wrong, but it seems that the collective level of insanity in society has risen in my short lifetime.
I don’t men specifically mental illness per se, but in a more general sense.
Is it the economy? Is it a generational breakdown of the family unit and moral values on a grand scale? Is it something more sinister, such as a conspiratorial plot? Illuminati? CIA? Chem trails? The cumulative effects of pollution?
Maybe it is just a trick of perception, but every day seems more absurd, disheartening and base.
People need to stop, look and listen to our world, our friends, neighbors, subordinates and pets. People need to find, again, human dignity, honor, ethics and compassion or our collective futures look pretty glum.
How will what I do today affect the world tomorrow?
Is this how Rome fell?
