Preparing for cooking competition in Lewiston

: Gene Tardif of Gene’s Cleaning Service in Lewiston makes sure everything is spotless at the Green Ladle in Lewiston on Tuesday, in preparation for a cooking skills competition. The Green Ladle will host the local Skills USA culinary arts competition Wednesday with 12 students from six local schools each preparing a seven-course meal. Local winners will compete in a regional cook-off in Bangor in March. The national competition will be held in Kansas City, Kan., in June.
