Ham dinner at Masons

NEW SHARON — A ham dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Masonic Lodge Hall, Route 2.

The meal includes mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, baby carrots, rolls, apple sauce, pies, tea and coffee. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for ages 6 to 12, and free for 5 and under. Proceeds will benefit the building fund.

Thrift Shoppe donations

RANGELEY — The Episcopal Church Women of the Church of the Good Shepherd Thrift Shoppe continue to thank all who make donations and volunteer the time, energy and expertise required to continue this outreach in the community.

The need of clean, usable clothing and small household items continues to grow. Inventory is low; items can be dropped off by the downstairs coat rack or during shop hours.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help with sorting and displaying is encouraged to call the church office at 864-3381 or just show up.

The Thrift Shoppe is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at 2614 Main St. in the Episcopal Church Undercroft.

The Thrift Shoppe will be closed Saturday, Jan. 19, for a funeral reception.

Public Masonic supper Jan. 19

EAST WILTON — A public Masonic supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Building, 70 Bryant Road, East Wilton. This will benefit the building fund. Menu for the supper will be chicken pie, squash, cranberry jelly, homemade bread, apple crisp with ice cream and beverages. Costs are $8 for adults and $5 for those under age 12.

Free college planning workshop

WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop, “Essentials of College Planning,” for adults ages 19 and up at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Wilton Career Center, 865 U.S. Route 2E.

The starting point for all MEOC participants is this free interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills.

The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Preregistration is required.

All MEOC services are free and include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process and application fee waivers for qualified adults.
