AUBURN — Maryanne Eva D. Davis, 68, of Fayette, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Auburn Hospice House.

She was born in Portland on July 7, 1944, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Pauline (Stinson) Craney, Sr. Maryanne grew up Wilton, attending Wilton Academy.

She was very proud to have obtained her cosmetologist license from Bernard’s in Lewiston and even prouder to have owned her own salon for 15 years in Jay and Fayette. During that time she also owned and operated the Inn Towne Lounge in Livermore Falls, until it was destroyed by fire in 1993. At that point she obtained her CDL license and worked as a cross country truck driver for about three years, before returning to Maine to re-establish the Inn Towne Lounge II.

Maryanne enjoyed cribbage, flower gardening and traveling; one of her favorite trips was when she surprised her son in Florida for his 50th birthday. She also spent much time watching the Loons at her home on Tilton Pond.

She is survived by her son, Duane Wright of Dunedin, Fla.; and her daughter, Wanda Bryant and her companion, Michael Campbell of Hebron. She also leaves her grandson, Sean Bryant and his wife, Kelly and their three daughters, Zion, Eden and Lydia of Mechanic Falls; her granddaughter, Lindsey Bryant and her two sons, Chase and Levi of Turner; as well as two brothers, Bradford Craney of Strong and Dana Craney of Warren; seven sisters, Theresa Durrell of Stratton, Ruth Newton of Lewiston, Althea Roberson of Cambridge, Md., Janice Reardon of Bangor, Nancy Foster of Limington, Julia Cote of Livermore and Laurie Jones of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Lawrence and Harry Craney and was the last of “the three sisters,” who included Doreen E. Maheux and Galeen Buckley.
