AUBURN — Shayne Plummer scored two goals to lead Bonny Eagle to a 4-3 win over Poland/Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ hockey Monday.
Trailing 3-1 in the third period, the Scots (11-2) scored three straight. John Bagley scored a shorthanded tally at 3:35 of the second. Then Plummer tied it at 3:32 of the third with a shorthanded goal. Connor Shields netted the game-winner on a Travis Rogers pass at 10:19.
After a Plummer goal in a Bagley assist in the first, the Knights got a Kaleb Bridgham goal at 7:11 followed by a David Despins tally at 10:12 while shorthanded. The Knights (2-10-1) made it 3-1 on a Nevin Rand goal at 3:08 of the second on assists from Bridgham and Ethan Callier.
Knights’ goalie Calvin Shelley stopped 36 of the 40 shots he faced, while Garrett McElrath made 18 saves on 21 shots.
Boys’ basketball
Dirigo 74, Telstar 50
DIXFIELD — Robbie Babb led four players in double digits with 15 points as a balanced Dirigo squad took care of business Monday, upended MVC foe Telstar 74-50 in a boys’ basketball contest.
Travis Frost (12), Chad Snowman (11) and Hunter Ross (10) also reach double figures for the Cougars (16-1). Ross and Frost each added seven assists.
Mike DelDuca led the Rebels (1-16) with 22 points.
Lisbon 54, Monmouth 51
MONMOUTH — Tucker Brannon scored 28 points to lead Lisbon to a 54-51 overtime win over Monmouth in boys’ basketball Monday.
Mason Haley finished with six points and scored in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime for the Greyhounds (4-13). Monmouth (6-11) got 14 points each from Brandon Goff and Billy Cummings.
Lisbon trailed 27-17 at the half but outscored the Mustangs 13-9 in the third and 19-13 in the fourth.
