VIENNA — A Farmington Falls woman was killed early Wednesday morning after her vehicle overturned several times and she was thrown from it.
State police say speed is being considered as a likely factor.
Hilda Howe, 36, lost control of her 2003 Mercury Mountaineer just after midnight on Tower Road. The sport-utility vehicle overturned several times and landed upright against trees, according to Trooper Diane Perkins-Vance.
Alone at the time, Howe was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the SUV, Perkins-Vance said.
Police are continuing the investigation and seek information from anyone who may know where Howe was Tuesday night, prior to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Maine State Police in Augusta at 624-7076.
Mt. Vernon Rescue and the Vienna Fire Department assisted at the scene.
