Dance benefits Spruce Mtn. Ski
LIVERMORE FALLS — There will be a dance to benefit the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope in Jay from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Murray Hall.
Crash Road, the band, will perform as part of its reunion tour 2013. There will be auctions, raffles, refreshments and a cash bar. Age 21 and over only.
Tickets are $25 per couple, $15 for single. Advanced tickets can be bought at Mill Street Cafe, Riverside Kwik Stop and Ski Depot in Jay and Foss Jewelry in Livermore Falls.
Cancer outreach awareness
FARMINGTON — The Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County will host several awareness events throughout the region regarding the importance of scheduling timely screenings for colon, prostate and breast cancer.
The schedule is as follows:
Tranten’s Market, Kingfield, Tuesday, Feb. 19, 9 a.m. to noon.
Franklin Memorial Hospital Bass Room, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will feature a special Go Red and Pink event for women: education and awareness of breast cancer and heart disease, and mammography scheduling.
Save-a-Lot, Farmington, Tuesday, March 5, 9 a.m. to noon.
Food Pantry, Rangeley, Tuesday, March 12, 9 a.m. to noon.
Food Pantry, Phillips, Thursday, March 14, 9 a.m. to noon.
In the case of inclement weather, if schools in the area are closed, the event will be rescheduled.

Grange public baked bean supper
CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will have a public baked bean supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. Menu is baked beans, salads, casseroles, biscuits and homemade pies. Adults, $7; child, $3.
Baptist Church block party
PHILLIPS — The Farmington Baptist Church of 194 Whittier Road will host a free block party at the Phillips Community Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.

On-Farm Energy Initiative
FARMINGTON — USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist, Paul Hersey, has announced the second signup period for the On-Farm Energy Initiative, funded through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. Potential applicants should contact the Farmington NRCS office soon to find out if they are eligible. Applications for the second ranking period of 2013 are due at the NRCS offices by close of business on March 15. This Initiative offers technical and financial assistance.
