William F. Carrigan of Lewiston attached his signature to a Boston American contract Wednesday, and the fears of the fans that Bill was a holdout, owing to various rumors that were persistently afloat, were definitely set to rest by this action. Bill is now a full fledged member of the Red Sox for 1913, just as those who know him best expected. “I plan to leave Lewiston on Tuesday of next week, but shall not go directly west as there are enough things in Boston to keep me busy for a couple of days. Then Wagner and I will leave for the training grounds, to be joined by the rest of the squad later.” Bill has been taking things easy this winter. He is in great shape, physically, and his injured knee is causing no trouble.
