WILTON — A local woman was arrested Thursday night after police spotted 14 small marijuana plants and some loose marijuana in her apartment.
Chelsea Daggett, 20, was charged with violating condition of release and marijuana cultivation after police responded to a domestic complaint at a home on Cross Street about 10:30 p.m., Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.
Wilton Officer Michael Boucher made the arrest, with the assistance of Franklin County Deputy Nathan Reid.
Apparently, Daggett was growing the small plants, although her release conditions include no new criminal conduct or possession of illegal drugs, Wilcox said.
Daggett was indicted in 2011 on charges of importing and possessing heroin, after police stopped a vehicle she was driving. Inside the vehicle, they found 45 bags of the drug and five empty bags.
An investigation by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency led them to believe the vehicle was returning from Connecticut with possible drugs. They obtained a search warrant and stopped the vehicle in East Wilton.
During her appearance in court Friday, bail was set at $250 cash and a Maine pretrial contract. She was given the contract but remained at Franklin County Detention Center late Friday afternoon.
