WILTON — A Jay teenager was injured Thursday afternoon after her car struck the rear of a truck attempting to go around a vehicle making a left turn into Comfort Inn & Suites on Routes 2 and 4.
Thomas Masse, 55, of Temple was driving a 2002 Chevrolet truck east and was followed by a 2001 Hyundai Accent driven by Chelsey Beaulieu, 18, of Jay. Beaulieu was distracted, and her vehicle hit the back of the truck, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said Friday.
She was looking at a state trooper’s cruiser parked on the side of the road when the 4:32 p.m. accident occurred, Wilcox said.
She received minor injuries, Wilcox said. Masse was not injured.
Officer Andrew Hardy was assisted at the scene by Trooper Scott Dalton. Wilton Fire Rescue Department and NorthStar Emergency Medical Services also responded to assist.
