Family, Friends CPR course
AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer the American Heart Association’s Family and Friends CPR course from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30. Deadline for registration is March 20.
This quick course is designed to teach potential rescuers the basics of CPR. Participants will experience a practice-as-they-watch class format. Topics covered include hands-only CPR and AED use for adults, child CPR and AED use and infant CPR. Adult, child and infant choking relief will also be covered.
This single-morning course is open to the public and is intended for individuals want to learn CPR but do not need to be certified. Registration is open and ongoing; space is limited. The cost is $49 and includes materials.

Membership meeting at Legion
LEWISTON — American Legion Post 22 will hold its membership meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.
Auxiliary Unit 22 will meet at 5:15 p.m.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and other prizes. The Auxiliary will serve a light light for attending members. All attending must present a paid-up 2013 membership card.

Underground Railroad is topic
HEBRON — The Underground Railroad will be the topic discussed Tuesday, March 26, at the Hebron Town Office.
Connie Benwitz of Minot will present local connections to the Hebron Historical Society at 7 p.m. She will detail how quilts were used as signals in this 19th century challenge. The public is invited.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library’s Tuesday morning book club has announced its next selection: “Defending Jacob,” by William Landay. The next meeting of the club will take place at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the library’s Couture Room.
