String Quartet performs Haydn
LEEDS — The Amarantos String Quartet will perform Franz Josef Haydn’s “The Seven Last Words of the Cross” in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at the Leeds Community Church, 123 Church Hill Road. All are invited. Admission is by donation.
Haydn is sometimes called the “father of the string quartet” and this is one of his masterpieces, performed in a venue well suited to the subtlety and intimacy of the string quartet.

Farmington Library annual meeting
FARMINGTON— In accordance with its by-laws, the Farmington Public Library Association will hold an annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4. Each year at the meeting new trustees and officers are elected.
Community members interested in becoming corporators of the library or in becoming more involved in the library are welcome to attend.

College planning workshops
WILTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop, “Essentials of College Planning,” for adults ages 19 and up at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Wilton Career Center, 865 U.S. Route 2E.
The starting point for all MEOC participants is this free interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills.
The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Preregistration is required.
All MEOC services are free and include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process and application fee waivers for qualified adults.

Benefit dinner for animal shelter
FARMINGTON — A benefit dinner for Franklin County Animal Shelter will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Old South Church.
Menu will be spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, salad and dessert. Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for kids. Takeout available. Call 778-2638 by 5 p.m. on April 6.

American Legion resumes bingo
KINGFIELD — American Legion Post 61 will resume weekly bingo games on Saturday, April 6. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 6:30.

LIVERMORE FALLS — RSU 73, Community Concepts and Androscoggin Headstart will conduct registration for pre-K enrollment from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the RSU 73 Central Office, 9 Cedar St.
If your child will be 4 years old on or before Oct. 15 and you want to register him/her in pre-K, call Livermore Elementary School at 897-3355 to make an appointment.
You will be required to provide your child’s birth certificate and a current immunization record. The registration process takes approximately 20 minutes.
