AUBURN — Constance G. Labonte, nee LeClair, 84, of 339 Heath Road, Casco, died of a broken heart Wednesday, March 27, 10 days after losing her husband of 65 years, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 17, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Florida LeClair. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947, the same year she married John R. Labonte, her high school sweetheart and football hero. They were married for 65 years. They resided on Old Greene Road in Lewiston for 22 years, before moving to Thompson Lake in Casco in 1980. They also resided in Ocala, Fla., for 12 winters.

Connie enjoyed canoeing, bass fishing (was once called the bass lady of Thompson Lake), cooking and was a crossword puzzle addict. She enjoyed a close-knit family life and taught her children and grandchildren to fish.

She is survived by her six children, Jeannine (Mrs. Pierre Levesque), Louise (Mrs. Maurice Dennis), Thomas Labonte and wife, Peggy, Anne LeBlanc, Marc Labonte and Suzanne (Mrs. Stephen Gorr); 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Libby and Irene Maher; brother, Robert LeClair; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers, Irma Donovan, Bernard LeClair, Beatrice Parker, Julia Legare, Ora McGrath, Patricia Ricker, Paul LeClair and Betty Caouette.
