LEEDS — Plans are well under way for the Rural Community Action Ministry’s annual fund raiser, the Auction for Action to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Leeds Community Church, 123 Church Hill Road.

This will be a fun evening featuring both a silent and live auction called by auctioneer Errol “Abe” Additon, lots of good food and live entertainment by singer-songwriter Mike Ladd from Wayne.

Tickets for the event are $10 and include the auctions, light fare and entertainment. Children under 12 are free. Proceeds from the auction will go for food and fuel assistance in RCAM’s service area, consisting of the towns of Canton, Hartford, Sumner, Buckfield, Livermore, Turner, Leeds, Greene, Wales, Sabattus, Wayne, Monmouth and Litchfield.

The auctions will offer a wide variety of goods and services donated by area individuals and businesses. Items include a Sugarloaf get-away, four box seat tickets to the Red Sox or tickets to the Sea Dogs or Red Claws. There will be a hand crafted rocking chair and jelly cabinet, a full size quilt, a hand carved “fairy house,” books and a bird feeder. Also offered are a ride on the Downeaster, ski-joring behind athletic dogs, gift certificates for yoga and massage, a martial arts class and a fitness membership. Donations continue to come in.

The silent auction will run from 6 to 7:30 with the live auction starting at 7:30.
