LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen and Budget Committee members are working on municipal budget proposals for 2013-14.
A preliminary budget of $2.2 million was reviewed Monday night but everything has not been factored in.
The draft proposal stands at $50,274 less than the current budget.
The Budget Committee will meet at 6 p.m. April 10 at the Town Office.
Once the plan is finalized it will go to public hearing prior to a referendum vote on June 11.
Voters are also expected to consider some new ordinances, including consumer fireworks and flood plain management.
Selectmen agreed to put a request from the Jug Hill Riders Snowmobile Club on the annual town meeting warrant. The club will ask to borrow $8,600 to buy a track kit for a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer it owns for $4,800 and a new mobile master drag to tow behind it for $3,800.
The money would be paid back over four years, President Tim Fournier said.
In 2009, voters approved the club’s request for about $8,500 to buy a 2009 Ski Doo snowmobile to replace an older machine used to groom trails in town. The club saved sales tax and paid the debt by excise taxes generated by snowmobile registrations and other means and had it paid off in 18 months.
Fournier said he had just finished writing three grants to benefit the club and trail system. The idea is to keep snowmobilers coming back and riding the trails in town.
