Kindergarten screening at OHCA
PARIS — Oxford Hills Christian Academy, a K-12 school on East Main Street, will hold its kindergarten screening on Friday, May 10, beginning at 8:30.
Incoming kindergarten students must turn 5 no later than Oct. 15. If you have a child that you would like to enroll in kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year, call the office at 743-5970 to set up an appointment for a half-hour time slot.
Kindergarten screening will once again be conducted by Mrs. Eileen Rose, the first- and second-grade teacher, who has taught kindergarten, first and second grade at OHCA and in Boston for many years.
The school will be holding open houses on April 12, May 10 and May 31.
VFW dance April 13
HARRISON — The Ronald St. John VFW Post on the Waterford Road will have a BYOB dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 13. Admission is $10 per person for 21 and over. The band will be Tina Kelly Band. For more information call Ellen At 583-4558.
Ladies Auxiliary bean supper
HARRISON — The VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9328 will sponsor a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Harrison VFW, on the Waterford Road, Route 35.
The menu includes homemade baked beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, casseroles, salads, pies and beverages. The supper is a fundraiser for the Ladies Auxiliary. $7 for adults, $3 for children.
Supper benefits snowmobile club
OXFORD — A pot roast supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Oxford Recreation Center, King Street, Route 121.
The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.
Proceeds will benefit the Rock ‘O’ Dundee Riders Snowmobile Club.
Wilkins House yard sale April 13
WATERFORD — The first yard sale of the season will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at the Wilkins House next to the church on Plummer Hill.
There are many new items for everyone, including a good selection of books and games for adults and children. All proceeds benefit the Wilkins House and the church.
Food bank open in Sumner
SUMNER — Sumner Food Bank will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, April 15, at the Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main St. It is open the first and third Mondays of each month. For more information call 388-2610.

WEST PARIS — The food pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month.
Spurrs Corner food pantry hours
OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Cryptogram contest winner
PARIS — Reginald Jack of South Paris won the $5 prize for participating in Paris Public Library’s March Cryptogram Challenge.
April’s cryptograms are available at the library’s front desk. Completed puzzles need to be in on or before April 30 for the drawing.
