NORWAY — A local couple were was injured late Monday afternoon when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving after hitting a patch of sand on Main Street.
near the intersection of Main and Water streets.
Ralph Howhannesian, 58, suffered head injuries and was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway shortly after 5 p.m., according to Norway police officer Rob Federico Jr.
A 31-year-old Norway woman, identified by Federico as Howhannesian’s wife, Rebecca, received minor abrasions. Neither was wearing a helmet.
Witnesses said Howhannesian was driving west toward Waterford when the motorcycle slipped on sand and slid onto its side near the Water Street intersection.
The investigation is still ongoing by Norway police officer Rob Federico Jr.
