TURNER — The annual Leavitt Father’s Day 5K will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 16. It will start on the fields between the football field and track at Leavitt Area High School, 21 Matthews Way.

This race is a central Maine woods trail and field 5K on Father’s Day morning to help raise funds for the Leavitt cross country team. Walkers also welcome. The race begins behind the high school by the track and football field off Lower Street.
Early registration is encouraged. Performance T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants. The fees are $15 if pre-registered/$20 on race day, and $10 for 10 and under if pre-registered/$15 on race day.
A number of parent-child teams run the trail, and special prize drawings for father-child teams are offered during the awards.
There are also age group prizes. Divisions are 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.

The two were one of the many parent-kids teams at the event. Registration is open for this year’s race, which will take place June 16.
