POLAND — Excelsior Grange Amateur Talent Contest will take place at p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Grange Hall, 446 Harris Hill Road.
Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on April 4 were: first, Pauline Quimby and Dick Dennis; second, Bob Cielinski and Roger Labbe; third, Bob Leclair and Don Haley; fourth, Ed Hinkley and Ray Marcotte; fifth, Doris Gosselin and Donna Aube.
Winners on April 11 were: first, Don Haley, two player table; second, Anna Faucher and Bob Oliver; third, Dwight Webb and Steve Agurkis; fourth, Arnie Burgess, two player table; fifth, Pauline Quimby and Mike Martin.

VFW meeting is April 22
LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Lewiston Armory, Central Avenue.
The meeting was rescheduled from April 15. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.
Social media for saving money
AUBURN — Find out how you can save money on hotels, on your next dinner date or even your next family outing using social media. In celebration of Money Smart Week, join us at the Auburn Public Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 25, to hear how you can take advantage of social media sites such as Groupon, Sweet Jack and more.
Social commerce sites now include deals on travel, electronics, food and entertainment among other things. One of the major sites, Groupon, had revenues of $713.4 million in 2010.
This free and informative program on social discount sites will take place in the Androscoggin Community Room.
Scholarship for adults
LEWISTON — Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce offers the Adult Scholarship Program to recognize employees of Chamber members who have shown effort in advancing their education at the college level. Four scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded this year. The scholarships will be awarded directly to the recipient.
Applicants will have a high school diploma, GED or high school equivalency; be employed 20 or more hours by a member of the Chamber; begin course(s) within six months of receiving the award; be matriculated in college-level coursework applicable toward an associates or bachelor’s degree; and be at least 25 years old.

Seminar: Tax-free investing
GRAY — A free seminar on “Tax-free Investing: It’s not what you make, it’s what you keep” will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education center.
