AUGUSTA — Officials for the parent company of Central Maine Power say a recruitment site that was hacked has been secured, but an investigation continues.
Iberdrola USA, the parent company of CMP and other utilities, says it confirmed last week that an individual gained unauthorized access to its recruitment Internet site, which is used by internal and external candidates.
Iberdrola says the site’s been restored and the incident does not involve any customer data. But candidates who submitted online applications or were offered positions at Iberdrola may have been affected. The company has notified them and is offering to help them to see if any personal information has been misused.
Iberdrola’s contacted the FBI and engaged computer forensics experts to assist with its investigation.
