AUBURN (AP) — A 23-year-old Lewiston man is expected to make his first court appearance on charges he killed another man and dumped his body in a stream.

Michael McNaughton is charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Romeo Parent. He’s slated to appear Tuesday in Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn.

Police say McNaughton killed Parent in Greene last Tuesday and dumped his body in a stream in Monmouth. Police recovered his body on Friday.

Investigators say McNaughton killed Parent because he believed Parent was a police informant.
