FARMINGDALE —  Four people were arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was served at a Farmingdale residence and large quantities of drugs were seized, police said.

Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies, federal drug agents and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency served the warrant at the home of Christina Sanborn, 43, and arrested her and three others, Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said.

Also in custody are Justin Swift, 20, of Whitefield; Nicholas Presby, 31, of Whitefield; and Randy Figueroa, 37, of New York City, according to Liberty.

The investigation into drug activity at Sanborn’s apartment had been going on for several months, Liberty said.

Among the contraband seized were 116 grams of uncut heroin, 57 oxycodone pills, packaging materials, scales, ledgers and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff said.

The drugs had a value of $52,000.

“The seizure of such a large amount of Heroin indicates the size of the addiction problem in the Augusta area,” Liberty said.

Sanborn and Presby were charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs while Figueroa was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, illegal importation of scheduled drugs and refusing to submit to arrest. Swift had an arrest warrant for failing to report an accident but was not charged with any other crime.

Sanborn and Swift had no criminal history, but Presby’s rap sheet includes convictions for possession of hypodermic needles, failure to appear, assault, theft and cultivation of marijuana dating to 2003, the sheriff said.

Figueroa also has a lengthy criminal record, with several drug and theft convictions in Pennsylvania on his rap sheet dating to 2003, Liberty said.

All four suspects remain at the Kennebec County Jail. Bail for Sanborn was set at $20,000, $350 for Swift, $20,000 for Presby and $250,000 for Figueroa.

Liberty said authorities continue to investigate the case and more arrests are expected.
