MEXICO — The Police Department responded to 45 incidents over the last week. Among them were the following:
Arrests
* At 1:20 a.m. April 17, the Circle K gas station on Main Street reported an assault in progress. Police found two males fighting and arrested Joshua Blodgett, 22, of Rumford on an assault charge, as well as a charge of criminal mischief due to property damage sustained during the fight. As of Wednesday afternoon, Blodgett remained in Oxford County jail in Paris on $500 bail and has a July 2 court date.
Vandalism
* A Highland Terrace resident reported at 2:10 p.m. April 15 that sometime during the previous night, someone shot paint balls at their residence. Police reported that no damage had been done to the house and that they currently have no suspects.
Thefts
* An Osgood Avenue resident reported at 3:20 p.m. April 13 that someone stole an undisclosed amount of cash from them. Police have a suspect.
Complaints
* At 4:04 p.m. April 12 the Big Apple gas station on River Road reported that an out-of-control male refused to leave the premises after growing frustrated over problems with his fuel pump. By the time police arrived, the male had left the scene.
* A Brigham Street resident reported at 6:35 p.m. April 10 that multiple ATVs were driving up and down the road. The ATVs were gone by the time police arrived.
Lt. Roy Hodsdon said ATV trails do not officially open until May 12 in order to preserve the quality of the trails during mud season.
“You will be summoned if we catch you on the ATV trails,” he warned. “There’s no excuse right now for people using the trails. They’re well marked.”
