NORWAY — Oxford Hills SCORE, the Small Business Administration and AARP will team up to provide a workshop on business mentoring resources available in Western Maine for those in business and those considering starting a business.

The program will be presented from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the Norway Town Office, 19 Danforth St.

Panel members will include Marilyn Geroux , Maine district director of the SBA; Rich Livingston, volunteer state president of AARP Maine;Steve Veazey, Oxford Hills SCORE Chapter chairman; and Tina Ruhland of Norway Savings Bank.

With one in four individuals ages 44 to 70 interested in becoming entrepreneurs, and 63 percent of Americans planning to work during retirement, small business ownership may be a good option.

A 2010 survey by the Kauffman Foundation found that Americans 55 to 64 start new business ventures at a higher rate than any other age group, including 20-somethings.

There are numerous free business resources available in Maine. This session will provide participants with educational content and ample discussion opportunity.
