Central Maine Detachment meet
AUBURN — The Central Maine Detachment No. 810 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the American Post 31, 31 Washington St.
The group will be making plans for the Memorial Day parade.
All Marines and FMF Corpsmen are welcome.
St. Michael’s Spring Tea
AUBURN — St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 78 Pleasant St., will host its second annual Spring Tea from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the Washburn Room.

Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on April 18 were: first, Val Asselin, two player table; second, Lorraine Fillion and Roger Labbe; third, Bob Allen, two player table; fourth, Don Maillette and Aaron Burke; fifth, Anna Faucher and Stan Tetenman.

Cancer Resource Center volunteers
LEWISTON — The American Cancer Society, in partnership with St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, is actively recruiting Cancer Resource Center volunteers to assist cancer patients, their families, caregivers and members of the public by providing comprehensive services for those affected by cancer.
Resource Center volunteers receive specialized training to learn how to help visitors obtain information about cancer prevention and detection, treatment guidelines, clinical trials, local hospital and community resources, support groups, cancer education classes and much more.

author to read
LEWISTON — Young adult novelist Maria Padian will be reading from and talking about her latest book, “Out of Nowhere,” on Wednesday, May 1, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.
There will be two readings: at 4 p.m. for teens and at 7 p.m. for adults. A book sale and signing will follow both presentations. Free. For more information call 513-3135.
College planning workshops
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free workshops titled “Essentials of College Planning” for adults 19 and over at 10 a.m. Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, at Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.
The workshop outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Pre-registration is required.
