WILTON — Mt. Blue Middle School seventh-graders Gavin Bridges’ and Alec Donahue’s philanthropy project is benefiting the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Both started volunteering there as part of their assignment, Gavin’s father, Ben Bridges of Wilton, said.
The two students joined in a fundraising effort for the shelter. Bridges is sponsoring a raffle and Donahue is making scratching posts, with all profits given to the shelter.
Local businesses have contributed raffle prizes: a $25 gift certificate to Dexter Supply; a $20 certificate from Wilton Hardware; and a $10 certificate from Dutch Treat.
Winners will be drawn May 1. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. They are available at the animal shelter in Farmington from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Ben Bridges said. Checks may be mailed to the Franklin County Animal Shelter Fundraiser, c/o Gavin Bridges, 11 Morrison Ave., Wilton, ME 04294.
