PARIS — Two residents are running against incumbent Selectmen Samuel Elliot and Robert Wessels in the June election.
Elliot and Wessels were elected last summer to fill vacated seats. Both are up for re-election and will face competition from Michael Risica, a member of the Budget Committee, and Janet Jamison, who is on both the Budget Committee and the Paris Utility District.
Both are regular attendees at Board of Selectmen meetings. Jamison has previously served on the board and was first elected in 1990.
Garrick Frost is running unopposed for the seat Jamison is vacating on the Paris Utility District, and Michael Dignan is running unopposed for the SAD 17 Board of Trustees.
The election is set for June 11 at the Paris Fire Station. There will also be a referendum question that day on whether to disband the Paris Police Department and hire the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office to provide police coverage.
