STRONG — An Augusta man was injured Friday morning on Route 4 after the car he was driving hit a utility pole and brought down power lines.
Eric Lee, 21, was driving a 2006 BMW southbound when the car drifted off the west side of the roadway. He attempted to correct and struck the pole, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
There were minor injuries to the driver, who was examined at the scene by NorthStar Emergency Services personnel, he said.
Lee told deputies he may have fallen asleep, Nichols said.
Central Maine Power was called to repair the pole and restore power.
Deputy Nicholas Zecher investigated the accident and was assisted by Cpl. Nate Bean.
Members of the Strong Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
