Children’s Book Week events
PARIS — In honor of National Children’s Book Week, May 13-19, Paris Public Library will host a children’s story time and craft downstairs in the children’s section on Saturday, May 18.
Visitors can come any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for story read-alouds of the year’s best children’s books and to make bookmarks to take home.
Free supper at Second Congre.
NORWAY — A free supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St.
All are invited to join for a dinner of pork roast, mashed potatoes, veggies and dessert.
The Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. is an open and affirming congregation. All are welcome to worship, study and join in fellowship. Worship and Church school is every Sunday at 10 a.m.

‘Famous’ chicken pie supper May 18
BOLSTERS MILLS — A “Famous” Chicken Pie Supper will be held Saturday, May 18, at Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church.
Seatings will be at 5 and 6 p.m., with a third to follow as needed. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under the age of 12.

Girl Scout Troop to host clean up
BUCKFIELD — Girl Scout Cadet Troop 1480 from Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield will host a clean up day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
They will be focusing on a segment of the Nezinscot River behind the Bus Garage in Buckfield.
The Girl Scouts have been working on a year-long project about littering, and taking better care of the planet. They wrote a letter to the Buckfield selectmen and town manager asking for help. This will be this troop’s end of year final community service activity. The public is welcome to join them in this clean up day.
Inside yard sale at Paris VFW
PARIS — An inside yard sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the VFW Post 9787, Main Street.
Table rentals are $10.

Brazilian night is May 18
WEST PARIS — Pastor Scott Randolph has announced the West Paris Baptist Church’s second annual Brazilian steak night at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18. This year the festivities will be outside the church at 14 Church St. and live music has been added to the evening.
The cost for the meal is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Call the church for reservations at 674-3205. The fundraiser is for the church’s food pantry which is open on Tuesdays.
All are invited for an evening of fellowship with members of the community.
Little Andro. clean-up May 18
PARIS — The Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited is planning a clean-up of the stretch of the Little Androscoggin River that runs through the towns of South Paris, Norway and Oxford from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
Members of the OHCHS Key Club will also be participating.
On Monday, May 20, the University of Maine 4H Camp at Bryant Pond will continue the clean-up from where the Saturday group left off.
Both clean-up days are open to the public and volunteers from the community are more than welcome to attend either day.
Participants for Saturday’s clean-up are asked to gather/drop off gear behind the First Congregational Church on Route 117 in South Paris. Parking will be across the street from the church and at the Billings Dam Park parking lot. Mollyockett will supply trash bags, but bring a lunch and waders if you have them.
