MECHANIC FALLS — The famous road race that supported Pathways for so many years will be hosted this year by the Tri-Town Education Fund on June 22 as a part of Mechanic Falls Community Day. The one-mile Fun Run/Walk Race for kids and their families will start at 8:30 a.m., with the 5K Road Race going off at 9 a.m. and the 10K Road Race, considered one of the toughest in Maine, to follow at 9:10. The fee will be $30 per family, $15 over age 18, $10 age 15 to 18, and $5 for age 14 and under.

Register by June 1 to receive a T-shirt. Registration forms are available at school and town offices in Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland. They can also be downloaded by visiting the calendar listing at www.mainetrackclub.com.

The Tri-Town Education Fund is a newly formed independent, community-based nonprofit with the mission of supporting excellence in education in the three towns’ public schools. The goal is to foster partnership between schools, businesses and community groups, and fund projects that encourage a thirst for knowledge, respect for the community, responsible citizenship and broader student aspirations.
