AUBURN — The Mary Dillingham Chapter, National Daughters of the Revolution Lewiston-Auburn, has honored six high school seniors at a meeting at the United Methodist Church of Auburn.
This year’s DAR Good Citizen winners are Amanda Williams, daughter of Carol Gray, from Edward Little High School; Jessica Cooper, daughter of Kevin and Lisa Cooper, from Buckfield Junior/Senior High School; Jacob Bailey, son of Rebecca Engleham, from Buckfield Junior/Senior High School; and Mark Hite, son of Larry and Deborah Hite, from Leavitt Area High School.
Receiving a Good Citizens award provides the opportunity for the student to participate in an essay contest for which scholarships are presented on the state and national levels.
The DAR Good Citizenship Medal Award winners are Katherine Sawyer, daughter of Richard and Brenda Sawyer, from Edward Little High School, and Sidney Nadeau, daughter of Peter and Deanna Nadeau, from Leavitt Area High School.
The medal award is given on the chapter level through the National Defense Committee.
The students are chosen by their respective schools for outstanding citizenship, honesty, courage, service, leadership and patriotism.
Kitty Charbourne from the Maine DAR was the speaker. Refreshments followed the program.
